Podmosis
Last updated 19 September 2026
This policy explains what Podmosis collects, what stays on your device, and who else is involved when you use the app. It covers the Podmosis iOS app and podmosis.app.
It forms part of our Terms of Use.
When you create an account we receive:
Authentication is operated for us by Google, using Firebase Authentication. To run and secure the sign-in service, Google processes technical information such as your IP address and basic device details. We do not receive that information in a form we can browse, and we do not use it for any purpose of our own.
Podmosis is a paid app. Subscriptions are purchased through Apple's App Store and managed for us by RevenueCat, which records your subscription status, plan, and purchase and renewal history, linked to your account identifier. RevenueCat also receives device and app information, including an IP address, as part of processing those purchases.
We never see your payment details. Card numbers, billing addresses and Apple ID credentials go to Apple and are never transmitted to us or to RevenueCat.
If you email us, we keep the message and your address so we can reply.
This is the part most podcast apps cannot say, and it is the reason the app is built the way it is.
We do not currently sync any of this between your devices. If that changes we will update this policy before the feature ships, and audio, transcripts and filter maps will remain on the device regardless.
Using Podmosis means your phone makes requests to servers we do not control. We think you should know exactly which.
When you open a show or download an episode, your device requests the feed and the audio file directly from the publisher, following the same tracking and measurement links any other podcast app would. We do not proxy those requests and we do not cache the audio on our servers.
This is deliberate. Downloads are how podcasters are measured and paid, and routing around that would take money out of the pocket of the show you are listening to. The practical consequence for you is that the publisher and its host can see the request, including your IP address and app identifier, and will handle it under their own privacy policies rather than this one.
Purchases, subscription management and restores are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not use your information to build a profile of you, to target advertising, or to train machine learning models.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have never done either.
We use a small number of service providers, each handling only what it needs:
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of our users. If Podmosis is ever acquired, account information may transfer with the business, and this policy will continue to apply until you are told otherwise.
Podmosis is operated from the United States, and our providers store information on servers in the United States. If you use the app from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and we delete it, along with your subscription records held under your account identifier.
Some information survives deletion because it has to: Apple retains its own record of purchases you made, and we keep whatever transaction records tax and accounting law requires, which contain no listening data.
Everything held on your device — audio, transcripts, filter maps, settings, history — is removed when you delete the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold, to receive a copy of it, to correct it, to have it deleted, and not to be discriminated against for exercising any of those rights. Residents of California and of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws have these rights by statute.
The delete-account control in the app is the fastest route, and you can always write to support@podmosis.app instead. We will verify that a request comes from the account holder before acting on it, and you may use an authorised agent.
Podmosis does not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. We do not respond to browser Do Not Track signals, because the app does no tracking for such a signal to stop.
Podmosis is built for parents, and often used with children in the room — but the account belongs to an adult. The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will remove it.
Podcasts are published by third parties and are not reviewed by us. The filter mutes profanity from a word list; it is not a rating system and it does not make every show suitable for every listener.
Sign-in and subscription data travel over encrypted connections and are held by providers who maintain their own security programmes. Your parental PIN is stored in the device Keychain. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that a determined attacker will never succeed — but the design limits the damage, because the content of what you listen to was never ours to lose.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and for a material change — particularly anything that alters what leaves your device — we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
